Make sure the water isn't too hot, more like luke warm. A warm bath would work, too. It actually may help the fever to break, and he'd certainly feel better when he gets out. Give him some popcicles, too, or jello, cool juice, etc.

Don't be in a hurry to treat a low grade fever, it's probably helping your body fight infection. High fevers require treatment however, and possible medical attention. Fevers can be treated with lukewarm spongebaths, removing excess clothing or bedding, and increasing the patient's fluid intake, and medication that lowers the body's temperature to it's normal level. If the fever gets too high, children may lapse into fever-induced seizures. Do NOT give aspirin to children! It may trigger a rare, but potentially fatal, disorder called Reye's Syndrome.

Yes, the shower can be at the normal temperature but you DON'T WANT TO FORCE THE FEVER TO BREAK. A fever is the body's defense system. Ninety eight degrees is ideal for viruses to reproduce and spread so your body wants to get above that in order make it harder for the illness to progress. To cause a fever to break is just prolonging the lenght of time he will be sick.

Yes. Actually, I heard that warm water can treat just about almost anything like sore musles and fevers. Mabie you should try running warm water and letting him soak for a while. Afterwards, soup will help too.

he probably could but I would not recommend it, just in case he looses his balance. I would tell him to soak in the bath tub.
