The average time for periods is usually 7 to 10 days, but to have it every 2 weeks is definitely a cause for alarm. Your dysmenorreha symptoms (cramps, nausea) also seem worse than usual. Any number of things can be causing the heavy prolonged bleeding, ie. hormonal imbalance, thyroid problems, tumors/cysts in uterine/ovaries, uterine polyps, cancer, or even some medications. You should definitely talk to your doctor, maybe get some blood work done to find out the cause of the problem

there are diseases that maybe ur doctor overlooked. i.e. premenstrual dysphoric disorder, or this other disease i read about that is easily treated but makes life hell if not. I feel ur pain tho, when first started out, i had 2 week long periods, and had it every 2 weeks. i was unable to get out of the house, barely off the floor, it was excruciating. u might talk to ur doctor about being put on the pill, its not as bad as it sounds. im 16 and i take it purely to regulate my periods, i am NOT sexually active, and it helps me function during that time of the month. other than that, WORK OUT! running especially, before, during, and after ur period really can help make ur period less painful, shorter, and reduce ur flow

wow...i thought i had it bad.

the pill will help you alot...you should really think about it. as far as the cramps...there are natural diet remedies that might help a little like no caffiene and you can find those on the internet. try pamprin or midol. it will change with time. time and time again it will change :(
