Ok so here is the story, my girlfriend is getting a new horse, that good, the bad part is that it is in Minnisota, we are in oklahoma. i told her that i would help her drive up there. i have to take 3 days off from work so to start out with i am lossing money, i have to do the vast majority of the driving, she can't drive the trailer yet, so i will be driving most of the 30 hours we estimate it will take. then on top of that she wants me to pay for part of it. i am not in a position that i can do that. i owe my landlord two months rent right now. i told her that i can't help pay and she got really mad at me. what should i do

WOW!! I think you have already been an outstanding boyfriend as far as this situation goes...offering to take 3 unpaid days off and to basically do all the driving seems pretty darned generous to me! Has anyone else rushed forward with similar offers to her? I strongly doubt it. She does NOT appear to be an appreciative person. I'd say your rent and other expenses are legitimate reasons to not have to pay for part of this venture as well. It's HER horse and should be her financial responsibility. I mean, once the horse is home with her, are you supposed to pay for food and boarding, too? I think I might tell her to take a bus and ride the horse back...and then I'd find someone a little more worthy of your generosity and thoughtfulness. Good luck.

Tell her you need to pay your rent and if you don't you will be homeless tell her to stop being so selfish that you have bills.

Don't spend money you cannot afford, even for your girlfriend. I did that before for my boyfriend, and I still regret it to this day.

she is really taking advantage of you, tell her that if you matter more than the horse, then she should be willing to help out
