and his disciples also? Was this what JESUS meant when He said, "greater things than these shall ye do?"
Now, I can understand why stories of miracles would be needed to try to convince a people of a particular set of beliefs, but, beyond that:
Why did they stop? Are they not needed any longer?
I mean, come on! Really...
The miracles of the Bible - Water into wine, Parting a sea, outrunning a chariot, raising the dead etc... Where are they? I mean I've heard rumors, but I've also heard rumors of bigfoot. All we ever hear are Christians who claim they've been healed of cancer, or Alcoholism or "fear." Absolutely non-miraculous things! Little understood cancer can disappear overnight on its own.
Why the change?
Why are there no miracles? If you insist on miracles, why are yours so very weak, compared to the real ones inthe BIble?
Are you going to say that there's not enough faith in the world today? Well, when in the history of verifiable history has there ever been?

This seems like yet another reason to seriously doubt the claims of Christianity.

Considering the view that the PC crowd has that runs the major media - who is to say that such just isn't making the evening news?
I believe that there are miracles every day. Just most bypass them and don't take them into consideration. I can look at my garden and see a miracle. With the low grade dirt that I have it is a wonder that anything will grow - but it does and I eat from it every year.
Depends upon the viewers perception.

I think Jesus just wanted to be popular, and like any other great magician, never told anyone how to make miracles
Besides, there is no proof that water was ever turned into wine, or a dead sea ever parted in half. If miracles were done to increase believers, to prove that there is a god.... there are enough atheists and agnotists in this world right now for us to need a "reminder", but the fact that no big, great miracle has happened in a long time can only mean two things:
god got tired of reprimanding us and just left us alone to slap our wrists later on when we die and say: SEE? ha, I TOLD you!!!!!!
or the bible was just a series of stories about a man that had great ability to talk and convince masses that got blown out of proportion and made into great miracles that just never happened.

Jesus performed miracles to prove to his diciples and to the people that he was the Christ. Just before he was crucified, he gave the diciples the power to perform miracles in his name when he was gone. He wasn't showing off, it's just that the people didn't believe. The only reason people don't think he doesn't do miracles now is because he is not here in the flesh. He performs them every day. If you don't think there is a God, just see who everyone is praying to the next time your plane is going down. There not yelling help me Mohamed, or save Budda. There is a God, and there are miracles happening every day. Believe it!!!!!!

My parents are missionaries they have gone to Kenya every year for the past 5 years. 2 years ago a woman came into the medical clinique and they found a tumor the size of a soccer ball in her stomach. it was so big that they could feel it without tests although they did run tests to make sure they were correct. There was nothing that could be done to remove it all they did was lay hands on her and pray for her. she came back the next day and the tumor was completely gone nothing left. i know this is true there are about 20 people who can verify this. wouldnt you say thats a miracle

Wow, so much doubt about miracles and faith on your part, yet you argue about the bible as if it were a factual text? If you aren't sure about the level of faith in the world today, how can you believe in a book about a man purported to have performed miracles?

Absolutely no miracles!!!! None that can't be explained. He should be called Jesus Copperfield.
I DEFY anyone, ANYONE to explain any so called miracle that can't be shown to be anything, ANYTHING but a trick.
From the healing of the blind, (he rubbed his hand over the so called blind from birth mans eyes, said "can you see"? "No father", so christ spat in the dirt and rubbed mud on the man's eyes,"now can you see"? "Father I see trees walking like men!" BULL!!!!! If the man was blind from birth, how did he know what a tree looked like, let alone what a man walking looked like?
One example:. Every miracle, ALL OF THEM have a simple logical answer.Religious people are SO blinded, hoping for something more than this life offers.
The bible is a great read if one accepts it for what it is......a second person account of what the writer heard from others......I read it EVERY day/.

Who said they stopped? Who said they aren't needed any longer? God does miracles all the time.
"coincidence" is our way to try to explain away miracles of God.
There are many documented cases of healings.
The real question is, if you see the proof, will you then bow before Jesus, and accept Him as your Lord and Saviour?

A burden lifted from the heart and soul of a person is more miracules then turning water into wine. Having your soul filled with Joy and Peace that never ends is more important to me than seeing the physical world change at the hand of a man chosen by God. Because it's what's inside us that effects what's around us.
All you need is Faith. (and Faith is more powerful than sight)

For someone to be classified as a God, a miracle was necessary. If Christ hadn't performed miracles, he couldn't have held claim to being a god or a son of a god.
The apostles and saints performed miracles as proof that god is still alive and working through them.
Whether or not the miracles actually happened; whether or not Christ was a God, the documentation of such miracles is necessary to maintain the claim of authenticity of the Christian faith. Without miracles, there is no god.

There are many real big miracles happening in places other than North America. You do not hear about them because the Press is liberal and will not report them.
