He will stop what he is doing and his head will bob up and down for about 3-4 seconds kinda what a person's head does when they have Parkinson's

It could be medically-related, or it could just be the jrt in him. We have three, one of which is my sister's, and hers will tremor as well. Usually because she is just that kind of dog. You know, the ones that are scared and kind of small no matter what. If you have any idea of whether he was the alpha dog or not will give some clues. If he was pushed from the food bowl and bullied, then he will naturally act this way. Just constantly praise him, and try not to punish him too harshly. Dogs like that can't be spanked or yelled at, only told what is wrong with a forceful but quiet "NO". Good luck!

**KJ is right too....pent up energy adds to the tremors.....make sure your dog is also well exercised, and keep him on a small dog puppy food until the end of his first year. Then mix with a small dog food. All of these will help.

I have a JRT/Beagle mix that does the same thing. (Mine is two yrs. old). I've been told it's just something small dogs do or because the dog is cold. Then someone mentioned that it's pent up energy. I don't know if that's true or not, but I started giving him longer play times, more exercise and a couple hours of free run time every day. He hardly shakes anymore.

I did talk to my vet about it, he said it's normal behavior for little dogs.

Ok, mine doesn't do the head thing though...maybe see a vet.

I have a j.r. terror-ist (!!) too. My husband made me read these magazines to understand my puppy a little better. I think your puppy might have eaten a toxic plant ( rubber plant or something?) mine did too. The plants that will cause things like upset stomach siezures/tremors are azaleas, holly berries, & hydrangea. take him to the vet immiadiatly though because these things could cause heart failure.

Get this puppy to a vet. Seizures of any kind aren't normal.
