to the promised land (the land of the Cananites and lots of others) but it took them 40 years to get there.
1 Then Moses climbed Mount Nebo from the plains of Moab to the top of Pisgah, across from Jericho. There the LORD showed him the whole land—from Gilead to Dan, 2 all of Naphtali, the territory of Ephraim and Manasseh, all the land of Judah as far as the western sea, [a] 3 the Negev and the whole region from the Valley of Jericho, the City of Palms, as far as Zoar. 4 Then the LORD said to him, "This is the land I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob when I said, 'I will give it to your descendants.' I am glad to see so many scholars on this subject. Do you know that Sinai means " of Sin", He crosses the reed sea, Satan parted the waters, because the troubled flowing snow water represents the Holy Place, Moses could not have crossed it without it being parted. It led into the desert of sin.
and to the Mount of Sin where Moses received the 10 Commandments from Satan.

Eventually, they arrived in Canaan (think Israel, Jordan, Syria today);
