i see life very logically and see absolute truth. For exampe a parent kicked out a 17 year old girl for being pregnant. I said i competely agree, but then bunch of people just got mad at me and totally wrecked me in debate. Why is it hard for realist to cope with people in htis world?

Well, do you really need to be understood? Isn't enough for you to feel good with what you are and believe? On the other hand it's easy to feel frustrated because people don't agree with you, but have you ever wondered why people react to your stance like that? If you would ask me, kicking out your daughter just because she got pregnant is not realism, but lack of compassion and understanding...

You're confusing why you were shouted down. It wasn't because you were a realist. It's because your opinion wasn't popular. A realist would think that it's not uncommon for a 17 year old in today's society would get pregnant. A realist wouldn't necessarily agree with kicking out a pregnant child. That's an unpopular opinion that hasn't a thing to do with being a realist.

Realism without idealism is immoral.

Idealism without realism is impotent.

Logic and truth are often a matter of perception.

Men live longer when married, so logically all men should run out and get married asap. Do you find this to be the case?

Whats true to a muslim isnt true to a christian.

I cant speak on the 17 year old girl, because the entire situation isnt explained. On the surface it sounds rough, but who knows, the details may paint a different picture.

Sounds more like your an absolutist than a realist. An absolutist sees things in black and white, right and wrong. There is no margin for error.

A realist will see there is bad as well as good, reason as well as emotion, and easy answers as well as hard ones. A realist will look at the circumstance involved in a situation without the cover of idealism or opinion and attempt to see an outcome that is beneficial to as many as possible.

They weren't upset for your being a realist but for showing a lack of compassion. Most people would find it offensive to kick out a 17 year old for being pregnant. Why you see your view of what to do about such an occurrence as "Realist" is beyond me. One would think that a "Realist" would simply accept the reality of the pregnancy and move on. Do you think that being a realist automatically places one in the confrontational position on such matters as that?

Because you are not a realist, you are a bigot.
A 17 year old pregnant girl's very life is in danger if she is thrown out of a safe home.
Pregnancy, no matter how acquired is not a crime punishable by death or neglect.

Sorry but i do not agree, when the parents kicked the girl out they are also putting the baby in harms way, and it does not by any means deserve that, it should not be punished for his/her moms mistake....

You are not a realist, you are a hard ***. No realistic person would kick out a child for making a mistake.

Being realists doesn't mean you are always right or that other people will always agree with you. You sound intellectually conceited to me.

Emotion.

And the logical answer would have been abortion. We really don't need anymore destitute irresponsible young women living off the government's money.
