Dear Levi,

Hell is eternal separation from the Author of life, my heavenly Father.

The thought that anyone would willingly make such a choice baffles the mind! I know that the awesome uncreated Creator does not send anyone to hell. It is those who have been deceived by the father of lies that choose it.

If you understand the true meaning of Hell, then you will know that everyone that death takes, goes to Hell.

Definition: The word “hell” is found in many Bible translations. In the same verses other translations read “the grave,” “the world of the dead,” and so forth. Other Bibles simply transliterate the original-language words that are sometimes rendered “hell”; that is, they express them with the letters of our alphabet but leave the words untranslated. What are those words? The Hebrew she’ohl' and its Greek equivalent hai'des, which refer, not to an individual burial place, but to the common grave of dead mankind; also the Greek ge'en·na, which is used as a symbol of eternal destruction. However, both in Christendom and in many non-Christian religions it is taught that hell is a place inhabited by demons and where the wicked, after death, are punished (and some believe that this is with torment).

Is eternal torment of the wicked compatible with God’s personality? What would you think of a parent who held his child’s hand over a fire to punish the child for wrongdoing? “God is love.” (1 John 4:8) Would he do what no right-minded human parent would do? Certainly not! Simply put, the word Hell is translated from the Hebrew word Sheol, which means the grave, where everyone goes when they die.

Hot. And eternal. People who go there will live forever in pain. And no, there is no set time limit on the suffering there. It will go on and on and on and on etc. etc. Yes, there is a place called the grave and it's six feet under. There is what they call the second death. On this one you will wish you were dead but you will not disappear from the flames, nor will you turn to ashes. You will scream in torment forever. You will holler out for help and there will be noone there to save you. There is no water break. And no satan nor his devils will be there with pitch forks because this place was first meant for them not man. He will be suffering in torment foreveralso. He won't have time to poke his fork into you. Your neighbor next to you won't be able to help you or take time to listen to you. Nor will you be able to help anybody. That is if you go there. People think it's funny but think about it. What if it does exist. Here's an example of it. Although hell will be much hotter. Turn on a lighter or match and put your finger on it. How long can you stand it. Now imagine being in something more hotter and being in it forever. That's what it's going to be like. Maybe you will think about this but then that's up to you. All I can say is I hope you nor I will ever get to see such a place.

The degree of punishment in Hell will be commensurate with one's sin against the light which one has received.
One good passage that indicated degrees of punishment is Luke 12:47-48: "That servant who know his master's will and does not get ready or does not do what his master wants will be BEATEN WITH MANY BLOWS. But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be BEATEN WITH FEW BLOWS. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked". Other verses on this issue include MAT 10:15; 16:27; Rev. 20:12,13; 22:12.
Jesus affirmed that the wicked "will go away to ETERNAL punishment, but the righteous to ETERNAL life" (Mat 25:46)

Hell is absolute and eternal separation from God, and therefore from everything that is a reflection of God, everything loving, good, positive, beautiful, pleasant, worthwhile, interesting, enjoyable, etc. In hell there is only the absolute opposite of such godly things - absolute evil, negativity, ugliness, despair, hatred, etc.

Lonely, exhausted, no relief from pain, guilt, anguish. Basically every bad and painful thing you can think of. I do believe there is hope for everyone there to get out one day though. God says he won't be angry forever and that his mercy endures forever. I think it is like a jail sentence and is not really forever as in time with no end.

Hell is Sheol, Hades. It is an inert state. The people in Sheol have ceased to exist.

Since I'm saved, I'm not gonna find out, but I think from reading in the Bible, that is a place of torment, misery and gnash of the teeth. That there's a feeling of falling forever and its in total darkness; there's a sulfur smell. That there's fire every where and you are constantly aware of your pain, misery and torment.
