I wan't to get either a mtx 9500 fifteen or a diamond audio d9 15. One shop owner says mtx is louder and other says diamond. What is do you say?

I have hooked both up in my car, one at a time with the same amp. The mtx did have a heck of a lot more output than the diamond, (they both were in a vented box) The mtx was in a pre-fab sledgehammer box, and the diamond was in a shop built square vented box. The diamond did sound much better, but the mtx was about 3 db louder.

the MTX will probably be louder, but the Diamond will sound better. if you just want SPL, why dont you go with Pioneers top of the line model. the world record holder. the loudest single sub you have ever heard? maybe cause you dont have a link.

and if your worried that it wont be louder then a 15", i'd put money on this one, if both woofers were in there own speced box. its really a crazy monster. send MTX, and JL Audio owners home crying. lol.

good luck.

MTX requires less enclosure volume and can handle more power
