Thumbs up for a well thought out reply.

Even if I may not agree with someone on something, I have given a thumbs up when they make their point in an intelligent way.

Thumbs down - I give those for the stupid replies that are mostly just placed there for the childish desire for points (rude, insulting, two word comments, etc).

I give thumbs up for well thought out answers, especially ones that I agree with.

I give thumbs down for truly insulting answers or something that is totally incorrect. I often go into the Career section in YA and find incorrect answers given on labor and employment law issues. In those cases where they are dead wrong, I want to do what I can to ensure that they are not considered as the right answers.

If it is a real question where hte asker really wants to inform himself about something, i give thumbs up to answers I agree with wo be a good answer and thumbs down for obviously false answers.

If it is a question where the asker actually gives a **** about the answers and just wants to make a point or provoke or be funny or sth (as it is most of the time in R&S), I give thumbs up to either witty, funny or thoughtful answers or those who share my point of view and thumbs down to those who lack any wit or are just plain stupid.

R&S is more than any other category about opinions, so basically it's those I rate here.

I also give thumbs down to people copying wikipedia and make me scroll. I hate that.

If the answer is intelligent and/or particularly witty and/or informative, and actually pertains to the question being asked, I'll usually give it a thumbs-up.

Answers that don't pertain to the question being asked (including long blocks of Biblical quotes for a non-Christian question), are gratuitously insulting, and/or contain misinformation will rate a thumbs-down. I generally won't give a thumbs-down just because I disagree with the response; other points of view are certainly allowed, and in my opinion shouldn't be penalized just for being different from my own.

I gives thumbs up for an outstanding answer
I give a thumbs down to all whose answers have nothing to do with the question or which are just plain mean

If I agree with the answer, I'll give it a thumbs up. If I'm really offended, thumbs down.

answers like those by man are the one thing that always gets a thumbs down. People who chide the questioner without offering anything even vaguely resembling an answer get one too. If I laugh, I'll give a thumbs up.

If I give a thumbs down at all its because they do not answer the question at all.

If I give a thumbs up it is because they do answer the question correctly, And they answer it in a complete sentence and not just in a few words or a one word sentence.

I never had to give one yet, but if I do, I'd give a thumbs-up if I appreciated the answer. As in, if it was a good reply, well thought-out, and makes me think. Also, if I thought the reply was funny or insightful, things like that.

Thumbs down I don't think I'd ever give. I guess only if the reply was incredibly rude or completely inappropriate.

I give thumbs up to answers I agree with/answers that are correct, and I give thumbs down to answers that insult people.
