Whenever the subject of sex and the Bible comes up, somebody starts quoting the sexual crimes mentioned in the Bible, as if the mere mention of them is an indication of God's approval.

Does anybody here REALLY believe that? Or is it just manipulative spin?

"If you really believe that (a mention means God's approval), I believe you haven't read the whole story..."

Please give real answers!

I really can't understand the direction of your question much less the conditions you put upon those who answer. Still, we must understand something about sex. It is a gift created by God within our human nature to bring human life into the world. It is a wonderful and beautiful gift that makes us co-creators of the earth. God is the Creator, but since we are made in His image and likeness we are co-creators. Such a beautiful gift and the dignity it gives us should not be besmearched or misused. It is NOT sladered against in the bible as some may interpret. The sexual crimes mentioned in the Scriptures bring to light our sinful desire to misuse such a gift. It is not saying sex is evil. The misuse of sex is wrong and leads to evil. There is enough perversity in our society that clearly demonstrates this. We should always speak against the perversity of sex, but not against the gift of sex itself.
To slander the gift of sex from God and misuse it is to go against our created nature to "be fruitful and multiply". Life cannot go on if the gift continues to be taught wrongly, joked about, or perverted according to sinful desires and accepted as the norm. Why? Can you tell me what perverted act of sex extends life? All of them are centered on self-desire and have no intention of giving life or building a realtionship between persons and much less desiring a family to grow from it. The gift of sex is the means to bond to one another for the sake of relationship with the whole person and from there the love between them extends (through the sex act in marriage) to the birth of another person's life. The love of man and woman is so strong and the sex between them puts flesh upon the very love they share. If you wish to know what love would look like if given flesh, then look to any child that is born.
I hope this has been helpful. May the Lord bless and keep you. May He let the light of His face shine upon you.

God's and your beast of burden

Most of those quotes are from the Old Testament, and if you look hard enough, you can find a quote in there to justify almost anything. I'm not sure people believe it, but if it supports their particullar prejudices, they will use it to show that God approves of their way of thinking.

Take a look at the following statistics:

Over 75% of the U.S. population is Christian

A large percentage of the U.S. population has premarital sex (sex before marriage)

Christian teachings say that you should not have sex before marriage. Isn't that hypocrisy?

When I think about sexual content in the Bible, my favorite verse always comes to mind (no pun intended):

"She lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose semen was like that of horses." Ezekiel 23:20 (God's Word Translation)

It doesn't explicitly mention that it's god's approval, but it sure is man's. If people want to have inmoral sex, then they invent that 'God' has approved it.

That way, people won't feel guilty later on life.
