the cut was in the shape of a cross (or the anti cross, where the shorter stick was on the bottom)
should i take this as a sign for something?

I got one like that during a car wreck- I was fine except the cut on my finger which formed a cross
Perhaps it is a reminder that God was watching over you

That depends. Are you in a movie? If you are, it's definitely a sign. Otherwise, peroxide/band-aid/whatever's appropriate.
