I have a phoenix gold zx series amp, two twelve inch subs, cd player. I would be listening to a cd and it would be like my radio is tuning itself from high-pass to low pass, treble high, treble low. Like my radio is "haunted" Also my speakers will play really quiet in a certin part of a song then they will go to full blast, without me even touching the radio or the amp. Has this ever happened to you? This is a first for me.

I would say either your head unit is starting to go bad or your amp's crossover is starting to go bad. I used to have a phoenix gold zx and I had a problem with the amps crossover. It would fade from highpass to lowpass because the switch was broke. Best way to find out exactly what the problem is, is to take to a car audio shop, they will trouble shoot your system. If it is your amp, phoenix gold will fix amps no matter if they still make them or not. They do charge a fee though.

i had bad rca outs on my amp.. the bass was making the connection cut in and out from soft to loud. check that and the patch cords
