Why would an atheist stick up for any religion, much less the most violent religion in the history of humanity? This is the dumbest question I have ever heard in my life. I swear it.

Somehow I don't think that either Christianity or Islam have a lot to sing their praises for. But there's no such thing as being a traitor to atheism. That's like being a traitor to the denial of Santa Claus.

Atheism is not an organized entity like Christianity an Islam. How can one be a traitor to a non-belief?

I've taken both sides when each is inaccurately portrayed by the other, usally when the one is bashing the other, but of course I bash both. I'm not trying to be fair or politically correct in standing up for anyone, because I'm not standing up for the people, certainly not their religion, but simply for the truth. I think there's plenty of criticism to be made without propounding lies, inaccuracies and micsonceptions. I think the reason we see so much mud slinging over misconceptions and so little real challenge over real problems is because neither side wants to accurately understand the other, each is just insecure that anyone exists in the world who doesn't agree with them.

In what way would you stick up for Christianity or Islam?

of course not.

to me, an Atheist hero is someone who sticks up for their beliefs(not by going around and bashing others' religions) but has an open mind about things.

i think of its a hypocritical, logically inconsistent faith per a procedures fetched concepts devoid of excellent purpose information. i've got not got faith the religion or God myself so its no longer that I hate God. i think of human beings have a perfect to their own ideals yet numerous Christians are no longer content textile with that and consistently attempt to rigidity their ideals in public places, legislate it, and make contact with different people who do no longer share it morally inferior. they say their God is love yet took it human sacrifices, drown incredibly much the whole inhabitants which incorporates infants, promoted genocide, and could deliver all people who do no longer worship it to eternal torture. i think of its craziness, organic and straightforward. i'm no longer residing an evil existence.

Why do you need to support one and bash the other? If you don't agree with there faith just leave them alone as they do you. As a Muslim i don't care one way or the other what atheist think. I don't class them as villains or the enemy, why would i? We are all free to believe what we want, you say tomatoes i say tomatoes. Live and let live. Respect your neighbor. Agree to disagree. Are these qualities not for every religion? for every faith? for every race? for every non believer? for every minority? For every human being?
