Ah, hyper labs. I've seen so many of them!
Labs are very active dogs. They thrive on getting to go out and run and being with their people.
Interact with your dog as much as possible. Spends lots of time with him and give him a lot of attention.
Take him out on a run! Labs love to run. Do you have a place he could swim nearby? Labs were bred to retrieve and love the water. Try playing fetch. Anything new and creative with running usually will keep a lab interested! I own a black lab myself, and she just loves to go running and play fetch with her tennis ball.

Exercise. Train. Repeat.
Tire out his body and his mind and he will settle down---how old is he? Is he under 3 years old? Labs stay puppy-playful much longer than some other breeds.
Make everything a game and give him something to do that uses his body and brain and he'll get worn out.
Hide stuff and make him find it--people, toys, whatever. Play the "mat" game by training him to get on a mat when you say the word and then say it at random during the day.
Feed him all his food from a Kong so he has to work to get his food and uses up time and energy for him.
I used to have a hyper lab and I used to have him chase tennis balls for a bit before I practiced his sit, stay, down, etc. It took the edge off for him.
Good luck.

Generally labs will stay hyper tillt hey are three. I know this because of my Yellow Lab who ust turned three on November 24. Ways to calm them until that 3rd Birthday would to take your dog for a walk around the block. lso many Labs love to retrieve things hence there name. Now I am not a very good thrower so I tried hitting a ball with a raquet. Turns out my dog loved it. Now I didn't get so tired and she did. Finally try taking her swimming somewhere. Thsi will tucker out any dog.
If none of these things work try to wrestle with your pooch.
~Hope this Helps~ =)

Take it for long walks, play ball with it, or take it swimming. Your dog will never calm down if you don't give it some way to burn off it's energy. Also if your dog is young it will naturally calm down as it gets older. By the time your dog is about 3 it should be as calm as it is going to get.

Try melissa(lemon balm) essential oil and clary sage essential oil. Sprinkle a few drops on his/her bedding. Make a tea from dried catmint(available from most pet stores), add a little to the drinking water. For an hour a day, play some classical music (i recommend Mozart or Monteverdi), during a quiet time of the day for the dog, after a walk or after a feed.

If your dog is less than two year old it is normal for them to be hyper. Try to let him/her free to play or exercise afterwards im sure he will calm down. Unless he is always caged or tied up he will alway be hyper everytime he goes out. Give him/her sheduled time for walk-out with you later he will behave.

To calm the dog down spend some time letting it get some exercise and playing with u. Then set a time at night or whenever its your chill time and get your dog to lay and spend that chill time with u. Then it will know when it can play and when it needs to be calm.

What I do is when it is time to calm down, lie down. If your dog whines or barks do NOT pay attention to him. Simply pretend you are asleep or can't hear him. He'll eventually give up and lie down, and If youre lucky, fall asleep.

Start jogging, get another dog, lots of play time.
A tired dog is a good dog.
