pseudo-intellectualism.

They get a little bit of knowledge and assume they are "too smart" to believe in a God of any kind.

All of the atheists that I've known, including myself, find all religious theologies to be either inconsistent with the world that we experience or at best unnecessary for explaining the world. I find the concept of faith to be absurd and in many cases harmful in the sense that faith usually means faith in another person's (whether alive today or 2000 years ago) concept and/or interpretation of the supernatural. There is so much more than what can be stated here. Please consider the following. The atheists that I have known all take the subject of religion seriously and have spent much more time contemplating the subject than most believers. (You tend to do that if you risk eternal hell fire) If you are sincere in wanting to know why atheists reject the supernatural, then spend some time talking with them. Be forewarned, if you start spewing out irrational dogma you will likely be met with sarcasm and ridicule. Also, please don't accept ANY person's arguments without considerable contemplation. Many arguments will be incomplete if not fallacious(yes atheist's arguments too).

I didn't actually 'choose' it; I still wish there were a benevolent god who would reunite me with my loved ones in a glorious afterlife when I die. But, atheism is the only thing I can honestly and logically believe.

Questioning, reasoning and decision making. I think people assume that it's easy for one to decide to be an atheist (note decide). It's not easy and they suffer ridicule and condemnation from many more people than believers as they are a minority. At least they have a forum here which provides them safe haven.
(I'm a buddhist and I understand this).

You are assuming that I "chose" atheism. I found nothing appealing or intellectually stimulating about the Christian propaganda that was shoved down my throat.

Non-belief is the default. You either indoctrinate ( as religions in general do very well) or you convert through various means. I succumbed to neither.

It's because Satan has their eyes blinded to the truth even though they don't even believe that. And since Satan has their eyes blinded toward God, they won't seek God but rely on the wisdom of the world which is foolishness with God, they believe man can fix all the world's problems, only thing is, they forget that man caused all the problems in the first place, and man is becoming more wicked all the time.

There are so many untruths in the bible and if part of it is bogus why should I except any part of it?

If there is a god who is it? There are thousands to choose from. Evidence enough for me to understand that god is made by man not the other way around.

Religion was invented to explain what man could not understand. Science is making advances all the time to understand

No true evidence of "God".

Don't really know, but I think most people do not "choose" to be there. They end up there.

Can't say I can disagree. I've got my own God.
