They will need a credit card number as security but you can pay cash when you check out. Ask around, I don't think any hotels will give a room without a credit card number on file

They'll ask for a credit card to make the reservation, but, when you check out, yes, you can make the payment with cash. Even after you've gone though, if they see any other charges (like phone calls) or missing articles in the room... they'll charge it to the credit card number you secured the room with.

Most hotels require a credit card to reserve the room and also for any other expenses that occur (ex. room service, stolen or damaged items, phone usage) The best thing to do is call and ask
