First, I am very sorry for your loss and will keep you and your family in my prayers.
Their marriage was only religious, therefor it was not legally binding. Although, I am not sure of what NC's common law marriage laws are.
May God help to lessen the pain of your loss.

Did they have a license in any state? Federal law has that marriages in other states are recognized throughout the country (with the exception of same sex marriages at this time).
The government doesn't care what ceremony you have. Saying that muslim marriages aren't legal would be like saying Jewish weddings, or Southern Baptist, or any religion we happen not to like aren't valid. That's why we have separation of church and state.

You need a legal license to perform a legal Marriage. If the Muslim Guy who performed the Marriage is not licensed then they are not married by law.

NO
edit: There were some provisions for 'common law' marriages, but I think they also have been eliminated, I recall 7 years of co-habitation was required for that to be considered a marriage under NC law.

y might u get married under muslim regulation while u r no longer muslims. i think of ur marriage isn't legal because of the fact christians can't be married to extra beneficial than one individual at a time. the guy who pronounced u husband and spouse is a fraud as properly. because of the fact even muslims can't be married to extra beneficial than one individual at a time. He ought to divorce his first spouse and u ought to then get married. Then that's going to be legal. There are strict regulations that permit a guy to be married to 4 women persons at a time. anybody has to agree and anybody is taken care of an identical way. in my opinion i belive no guy is physically powerful sufficient to have 4 different halves. Prem_raj is absoluty stunning.

it is not legal if it is not documented. poligamy is not legal at all in America no matter what the koran says about it.
