Designate an area in the house where there is no TV, no phones, etc. Keep all of your study material (including extra pencils, pens and paper) with your study area to avoid having to break from study time to retrieve them later. Some people study better visual and other better by audio (meaning with music on low volume-I find background sounds distracting). You should be in an area that offers the least distracting environment. If you are reading material, read it out loud to yourself (that way you are reviewing the material both using visual and audio senses). Keep neat notes, and highlight only the highly important points of your reading material. I find it also helps to ask yourself questions about the required material (which can almost always be found in the overview of the material) and find the answers to those questions. And always do like another member suggested and do all of your homework-I always made a copy of my homework so that I would have it safely in a folder at home to review during study time. DO NOT cram, make a schedule of study time and stick to it; and make sure you remember to schedule breaks. I find that if I study for a good hour steady a 15 minute break refreshes me and gets me ready for another solid hour. I never studied more that 2-3 hours in one sitting (there is such a thing as to much-don't burn yourself out and never study when your tired you will not retain it) Good Luck

I don't study that much at home, but when I am in class I take lots of notes; even if I don't go back and look at my notes I have an easier time remembering something I wrote down then something I did not write down. If there is ever anything I forgot from class I can always look back on my notes before a big test.

Take more time on your homework...actually sit down and comprehend everything your homework is telling you. If you can understand your homework, you can understand the material on the test. Good homework=good tests=good grade.

Study as soon as you get home from class.

Have your parents quiz you on material when studying for tests. (This was huge for me).
