Souls are the waxpaper that keeps our ham & cheese sandwich pysche' from sticking to our spirits.

Souls are wrapped around us like the tattered newspaper on a little boy's kite, made for him by his nervous Uncle Teddy, the one who limps.

There must be something non-corporreal about the soul, but they seldom attract our notice without a body and personality attached.

Walmart has no soul. Halliburton has no soul. Kmart has a small travel alarm, manufactured in the Dominican Republic, in place of a heart. The shape of the state of Ohio ressembles a human heart.

Auburn hair was considered the most beautiful colour a girl could have in the Victorian era. Auburn was considered the 'colour of the soul.'

The soul is actually a residual effect of the interaction of spirit and body. The Bible says that God breathed into the lifeless form of man and he became a living soul.
The breath of God into the form of man became mans spirit and the compound relationship of that spirit with the body emanates your consciousness which is your soul. The faculties of the soul are your intellect, emotion and volition. To make a differentiation the faculties of your spirit are your conscience, your intuition and your heart (not the same as the physical heart which pumps your blood) Your heart is the place where the true self is seated and it is there that your intentions spring from as directed by the intellect and/or emotions.

World awareness through the body
Self awareness through the soul
Spiritual awareness through the spirit

Your body is like a light bulb and its filament
Your soul is like the illumination of light
Your spirit is like the electricity which powers the bulb to animate the soul or light.

Well, Ive recently come across a very different was of looking at this. The idea is that our body actually has not one, but 2 souls. One, is our primitive, absolute survival mode. This is the one that keeps us breathing, and blinking. This one is most associated with the base of the brain and subconsiousness I would think. Now on the other hand, there is our higher-state Soul, which gives us personality, emotions, and connections to other people. This one would be in the same exact form as your body, because your whole body interacts with this soul, therefore, the location would be THE body itself, the whole thing. There are many ideas as to what a soul actually is, where it is and if it even exists, but this is the most interesting one Ive come across I think.

The SOUL = physical body + spiritual body.

Soul is definately part of consciousness. Maybe not entirely depending upon your state of awareness and individual perceptions vary. i.e. closed mind / open mind.

Some people barely consider their own spiritual side, other people hardly experience the beauty of their own physical body. A SOUL-FULL person has a good grasp of both.

The soul/mind is the consciousness and the body is the body. The soul/mind can exist separate of the body but not vice versa.
So, yes, the soul is a part of our consciousness.

Many people consider the soul the area of the will, the emotions, and the intellect. I think that is a very powerful concept as different from our spirit which is the essence of our individual being...that part too deep and profound to express in mere words. I don't think any of us truly "knows", but these definitions work for me.

I think that the soul is our personality. So, if your aware of your personality then yes it is part of our Consciousness. And I think that it's a part of our Spirit(ghost). It's what we are made of besides flesh and bone. It consists of God's breath but it gives us our identity. In my opinion. I've not looked in the Holy Bible for this answer so I may be wrong. Everything in the Holy Bible is thruth.

The soul is that which separates man from the beasts of the earth. It s the gift which God gave man to create us in His image. The soul is that which allows us to know right from wrong and allows us to seek God.
As to its state? I do not believe it possesses any real substance.

i think of the concepts and understanding are the two the comparable, and are the two non-close by. The concepts is the place creativity comes from, the concepts strategies it. The concepts is how we connect with greater planes of existence. The concepts is a actual organ on your head, that's close by, its like your physique's working device. while your physique dies, your concepts dies too. i'm undecided with regard to the Soul.
