Sometimes they wont just go up and talk. They might stare at her in the hallway or ask a friend if he thinks she's Hott. If you are outgoing you might actually talk to this girl and try to get her number, call her and begin building a friendship. Most of the time girls are waiting for you to come and talk to them.

Don't rip this up yet read it, because it could be exactly the answer you are seeking, It has, in my life been my experience that when I liked a girl, I would be kind of inwardly excited, that 'Hey, Tony! maybe this girl likes you' well, all kinds of stuff would go rushing around in my head, so what do I have to do to make sure, and how do I impress her, to the point that I am certain she likes me.
Firstly I have to accept that at some time I am not going to be with her after the first date, and in my lonely little room after we have said good night, I am bouncing round inside my mind what it is she looks like, well, we have camera phones that will take care of that problem now, and if I had had one of those phones then, I could have asked her can I snap a portrait of you, so I can stare at it all night, just so I will remember what you look like when I see you again tomorrow.
Then I would just lay in my bed looking at the photo, until my battery ran out on me, then plug it into the cgarger and jsut keep on staring at it, and when I am woken up next day I would be asked Hello, who's the young lady in the picture on your phone then? Being a truthful Catholic boy, I would say "well Mum, I am hoping it's my new girlfriend, do you like her? " My mum would probably smile and say something like "Oh, she is very nice and a cutie too, will she be the mother, of all my Grandchildren then?" and then go merrily off into the kitchen leaving me all daft and bashfull, with a spoonful of breakfast in my face, and she wouldn't say anything else until I was going out, probably to meet you again, and I would be honest enough to tell you what she said, and I wouldn't dare tell you about me being emotionally 'disturbed' at some stage through the night.....
OK, so you did ask, and I was being honest with you, but alas Cosmogirl, we cannot be, I am married to my wife whose picture I had with me and still have it, for the passed 42 years,since our first date, I am so very much in love with her, and still get 'emotionally disturbed' by her after all this time, but that, as they say is another story, and it's a true one too. Ther were othwer things to show her I could do, like jive dancing, sports playing, and I had a great time at showing off, that absolutely amazed her, ( and me too, I don't know how I managed to keep it all up,) but she fell in love with me, much to my relief, then I could ease up all this activity, and just marry her settle down and get on with all the normal things a husband does with a lady he fell in love with, when they were both teenagers in love, Yes it all worked for us, and we had 11 children, 4 of our own and 7 we adopted from broken homes, all grown up now and in their own relationships. they go all shy around her, start maybe slagging a little, try to suss whether she might fancy him, you know eye contact, you know a way to know if a person likes you is to blink faster when you're talking to him and watch his blinking and if he starts blinking quicker he fancies you
