Have you reached a point, where the act of sex without intimacy, love, and committment is just not worth the effort, or leaves you feeling empty, so you'd rather do without it? Or do you feel sex is something you have to have whether you're in love with the person or not?

So far I see 3 answers, but I think my question was misunderstood. I'm not asking if sex is immoral, or when is the best time to have sex. I'm asking if you feel casual sex without deep intimacy is just a waste of time, and makes sex sound overrated? Yes or no? Why or why not? No right or wrong answer. Thanks.

Yes I think you see that there is a difference between just having sex for the sake of it, and making love with the intimacy and commitment that is part of the whole meaning involved.
You have the insight to see that with out it, it is really meaningless.
I'd say...good for you....and because I do believe in the moral values involved, I think that too matters....and I'll tell you why.
Because God created the man and woman relationship from the very beginning to be "for" each other...and without that commitment, ect. it is not what God intended it to be. That is why you feel anything else is empty...because it is.

fact from fiction, truth from diction. I understood perfectly what you are saying. In most relationships these days sex has been reduced to a commodity, just another act on the "to do" list. Many get into a relationship just to have steady, safe, reliable sex. Not have a full relationship where sex is a part of it. Why so many break ups? Once the sex goes South there is nothing outside the bedroom to hold it together. Most people don't really have relationships, they are in denial that they do. But in short, it is just an extremely lengthy booty call. When you really, really love the person you are with, the sex you have is far better than ANY sex you think you had to date. Sex with lust is like a snack thrown together, you are always left hungry. Sex in a loving(not lustful)relationship is like a meal you are more than full of, and have to wrap some up for later.

It depends entirely on the person's situation. If you have just broken up from a serious relationship, it will take a while to get your emotions ready again for intimacy and commitment - but you still want to have some fun - in this case, you can have casual no-strings-attached sex.
Conservatives will say you should never have casual sex. Liberals say you can have casual sex with anyone and anytime you feel like. I say, it depends on your personal situation at any point of time when you can choose to be Liberal or follow the Conservative.

I think that just plan sex is overated. Yes sometimes its nice cause you body craves it but when there is not deep connection it almost makes you feel emptier. Maybe I'm strange but without intimacy and love then it's just sex. Nothing that special and not really worth the effort!

Sex is a waste of time if you do not absolutely love the person. I would rather not do it if I couldnt do it with the 1 i love!
