You would have to call a shop that specializes in this, but you are looking at more than you realize...

My estimate is to start at $4000 and expect to go up... Bracing has to be put in and under this car, the roof has to be pulled off and a new mechanism/top has to be put on... the top on a mustang from Ford hits $1000 with the mechanism hitting $2000 if I remember the last time I repaired one.. wound up sending it to a specialty shop for some repairs and the bill still hit $1500 to replace the top on a convertable...

Trade it and get another one that is convertable.. sorry

First issues first - previously you decrease the roof off, you would be able to desire to make the motor vehicle's platform plenty stiffer. Convertibles have boxed and rail helps already welded into place from the generating facility - a coupe or fastback would not. understand the extensive artwork that a project inclusive of this might contain and don't be fooled by way of the theory that all and sundry you would be able to desire to do is decrease the acceptable off and fabricate retainers to reattach it. and finally, my opinion, why no longer in basic terms purchase a convertible? in case you insist on a tough acceptable convertible, it might certainly be a great deal less complicated in case you start up with a convertible - and you will by no skill be caught interior the rain along with your difficult acceptable at abode.

Alot, you would also need to do major upgrading to the frame to make it more rigid as a car will flex without a roof. Sell your car and go buy a convertible.

the math here is easy. take the selling price of your car and subtract it from the selling price of the rag top you want and that is the final cost of getting you convertable

I just checked N.A.D.A. and it will cost you about $15,000 to turn your car into a convertable.
