I want to glue fabric to pine, like wallpaper, for decoration. How do I do this without the fabric bubbling/stretching?
Do I need to use a glue roller, or a spray adhesive maybe?
Thanks.

Sorry, should have said. I only want to cover a pine trunk, not a wall.

there is an adhesive at the professional paint store (like sherwin williams) that you roll on the wall first. you could also use some spray adhesive like the one 3M makes. keep in mind that if there were a fire, fabric covered walls are kindling. i believe that the adhesive made for wallpaper and fabric at sherwin williams is fire retardant.

What type of fabric are you wanting to use? Keep in mind that fabric moves and stretches.
Rather than gluing I would staple batting and then the fabric to the wall so that you would have a more finished look while also having more control of the fabric during the process. You can always use a trim to finish edging.
If your pine walls are in good shape (and you might want to think about resale value of your home...) wallpaper is usually the first thing the new owners want to change and can end up being very dated.
Have you seen the new wood stains? There are a lot of very vibrant colors to choose from. Sherwin Williams offers a good selection. They also have a great selection of faux finish paints if you'd like to try that.
Unless you're doing a very small area I'd back away from the glue!
