Most of the blame falls on the British. They are the ones that drew up the borders for Pakistan and India that left both sides lacking. Kashmir was the trouble territory, with its Muslim majority under a Hindu ruler, and since most of it went to India, Pakistan was upset.

Of course, religion is brought in to justify everything in this conflict, but here, its origins are purely political.

Originally, stupid religous fights. Gang fights, street fights, between Hindus and Muslims, so many Muslims just got their own country. It's very sad, because we are the same people divided by religion.

politics is always involved, but the stem is Religous conflict.
