MRSA is an antibiotic-resistant strain of Staphylococcus aureus, so any of the classical staph infections also apply to MRSA, such as skin infection, pneumonia, endocarditis, etc. You can only typically get MRSA infection if you're in a weakened state, such as being hospitalized, HIV-infected, or have cancer.

There are no signs of MRSA infection. If you have drainage from a wound or you have your urine or nasal passages cultured that is how they know that MRSA is what is causing your infection.
