all you're doing is trying to gain points and wasting both your and mine time.

I felt rather stoned after my first tattoo. It's kind of like the effect of an intense workout, the way the endorphins work. Only sort of, though; there isn't a perfect comparison.

I'm extremely fond of the work. It's still fairly new to me, but I'm at a point in my life where I'm not likely to whack out & change directions.

At most, any change I've seen is a personal recognition of where I'm at. It's a constant reminder of a promise I made to myself in my teens - what I've been able to do, not the tattoo itself, sort of.

A friend of mine who finally (took you long enough, Hod...:}) finished his PhD found my 360 and the pictures of the tat work. He was a little surprised as we've known each other for a while, but he thought it was cool. That's the reaction I've gotten from all of my professional colleagues so far.

My gf's social circles (belly dancers & artists, in addition to our mutual engineer circles) have a lot of inked folks, so their reaction is more like "take off your shirt so we can see!". Never had my shirt so forcibly removed by a woman who I wasn't involved with...

Addendum to Tom B: I know people into their 50s, 60s & later with tats. Barring one who got it from a scratcher, they all love them. This includes the 75 year old woman who jut got hers 6 months ago and the retired school teacher who liked a henna tat so much she got a full color version (accompanied by her granddaughter, who got some ink herself that day). In my experience, inked elders = maybe old on the outside, but young and good people on the inside. Time may take away the shell; you define what's inside.

It hurt! I was in shock at first that I actually went through with it. I still love it! It's a small tulip on my left ankle. Tattoos can be a little "addicting" though...A few years later I got a little daisy on the top of my right foot. Now that HURT BAD! Not much "cushion" there!

I still like them both. They are in areas that aren't always showing, but I can show them off if I want based on my attire. plus they're small. The daisy is a tad smaller than a quarter and my tulip is about 2 inches tall.

People usually have a positive reaction when they see them. The first thing they seem to ask is if it hurt and how bad. The tulip on my ankle was when I was in college (about 10years ago) and I've had the daisy for about 6 years. So far no regrets :)

I felt relieved, sore, ecstatic, tired( 4 hour sitting), and emotional. I cried when I saw it for the first time because it was perfect and just what I wanted. And I loved every minute of it. I had wanted one for so long. I got brave and did it. I had such a great experience the first time, I went back 4 months later and got another one. So far, I have gotten only positive comments(to my face anyway) about them. Just the other day I was wearing a tank that fully exposed the one on my back. I heard a comment behind me: Your flower looks so real! It continued to be the topic of that groups discussion for about 10 minutes. All positive.

I love both my tatts still. My back tatt is only 8 months old and my 2nd is still a work in progress. Take a look if ya like:)

i felt very excited after i got my first tattoo.

i don't have my first tattoo anymore. it has been covered. it's not that i didn't like it really, i just realized that i should have done a better job at researching a tattoo artist. at the time i didn't know that there were artists out there that are phenomenal and ones that are total crap. oh well. life lessons learned.

my tattoos have changed me i think. they have made me examine who i truly am, afterall these days i will think about a tattoo and how it will reflect myself. they have also opened me up to new friends so that's cool.

different people have different reactions but i have so far not had any bad ones. i think most people follow the rule of "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"
lots of people compliment me on the beauty of my tattoos. lots of people ask me where i got them. and sometimes people tell me i should go to "so and so" down the street that they could do just as good of a job (no thanks)
overall i love my tattoos and couldn't imagine myself without them. they are a part of me and a part of my personality. they are something that i am proud of and love to look at!

I got my tattoo in 05.

I got a music note on my wrist. I love it.

Music has always been very important to me. I started singing at 3 and the music note I got on my wrist. the treble clef was the first music note I learned to draw.

I was 18 when I got my tattoo and I'm almost 20 now. I do not regret it at all.

I do regret not going back within the 4 months to get the free touch up though. Now I have to pay another $50-75 to get it touched up :(

People don't really react to it because no one really sees it unless my sleeves are rolled up, however I have been asked if it hurts, the meaning to me, how much it cost, if I'd get another...little things like that...it's a music note not much of a story there ya know. People just ask when I started singing, competitions, musicals, choirs, etc and what bands I like.

It's just really personal to me.

It hasn't changed me. I've just branded myself as being a music lover!

I still love my tattoo. I wish it didn't need touched up but that's just part of having a tattoo.

i was really nervous at first (mostly abt the pain and whether the inker's hand would slip!) but it was a great experience. and i realise the pain is part of the package and really adds to the thrill of getting a tattoo. i went on to do a couple more. i'm still happy with them tho i wish they could remain as bright as on the first day. peoples reactions? well the most visible one i have is on my forearm. ppl do get interested and want to look at it, so thats nice. becos i do think it's pretty :P and i plan to get more :) my only worry is that as i get older and skin loses elasticity, my tattoos might start going out of shape ..

Um, i felt pretty estatic after my first tattoo. I was eager to take off the bandage and i took care of it pretty well. I love my tattoo still today. It hasn't changed me in any way except i feel like i've added something to myself. People are generally really receptive to it. I put a lot of thought into it's location, and it's a symbol of something very important to me. i kept in mind that i was goign to have to keep this for the rest of forever, i thought about placement, possible stretching, drooping, wrinkling and decided on my right foot. It was a great decision and i love to show it off.

I still Like all of my tattoos. It ahsnt changed me really in anyway. Almost everyone thinks my tattoos are cool, but the occasional asshole feels the need to tell me Im comitting a sin, and that I look ridiculous. I dont really care what people think though, so it hasnt really affected my life.

I felt happy but sore after getting my first tattoo. I still have it today and will have it till the day I die. It meant alot to me when I got it and it still does. Most people think it is pretty but there are a few people who look at a tattoo and think it makes you look trashy so if you are thinking of getting one be prepared to handle all sorts of opinions.

I havent gotten a tattoo because i cant stand the noise.. it makes me pass out! but many of my friends have gotten tattoos and say that it dosent hurt... its more of a burning rash type feeling than pain...if you do get one try using an unscented hand soap and original polyspoine to keep the color and stop infections!
