Would evolving into a rock confer upon you a survival advantage? Probably not.
Individuals do not evolve, ever. Species evolve.
Natural selection is a simple, blind principle that you have to thank for the diversity of all life on earth. Look it up in a proper book. It's logical and easy to understand. You will be dazzled.
And no, evolution does not have intelligent design governing its direction. Natural selection is quite sufficient.

No. Evolution has Natural Selection governing its direction. You didn't evolve into a rock because that would not allow you to perpetuate your genes.
If someone told evolution to evolve, where did that person/thing come from?

(The following doesn't seek to "prove" evolution, just to address your actual question:)
Think about it, evolution needs no "intelligence" at all 'guiding' it for it to work:
Imagine a crack in the surface of a highway, and a weed growing in the crack. The weed (attracted by sunlight) keeps trying to grow up, but is repeatedly squashed by traffic, except the parts in the "crack". Eventually, the weed grows out across the road and its root-system is EXACTLY the same shape as the crack... All the "unsuitable" ways it tried to grow were halted, and the weed ended up a VERY complex shape that perfectly suited its environment. Do you think the weed needed to be "designed" to be exactly the same shape as the crack? I mean, the odds of it fitting the crack so well must be billions to one, right? This is how the theory of evolution explains how living things (usually) serve their purpose so well.
If nature was 'designed', that only proves the designer is/was imperfect; why else would male mammals have nipples? Or why would humans have appendixes? Why would a worm that burrows into human babies eyes be such a successful species if a 'benevolent designer' were in charge?

Adaptation to our surroundings is provable and this true.
Evolution is not even provable, and thus remains a theory, and a bad one at that.
For evolution to be accurate, we would need to have still living and surviving different stages of our evolution. Meaning we should have early forms of us that can and do still recreate without needing to find another of our own species. If we started out as a single celled creature, we should still be able to find in abundance that same single cell still recreating itself and evolving in many different steps to this very day.
To evolve, do we just have to want it because it is something that would make us better or stronger? Well, then I really want eagle eyes, night vision and retractable wings. I want to avoid danger by flying up on a power line and waiting out the danger.
I think you can get the picture here. We cannot trace our beginnings, because we were created as full human beings right from the start. A chicken was created as a chicken right from the start, and so on.
We adapt, we do not evolve.

Yes.
Because evolving into a rock would not have served your life's purpose and function.
Physically speaking, you and your DNA know when the time is right.

methinks thy faculties suffer somwhat in that thy question fails to exhibit any bit of logic or understanding of either evolution or intelligent design.
Perhaps thou art closer to evolving into that rock than you might at first think.

Your late of dedicated understanding of the phenomena known as evolution is astounding. It is based on random changes in genetic information.

Rocks are inanimate objects. And its not advantagous for people to evolve into rocks. So why would you evolve into a rock.
The answer is no by the way.

People have a bunch of reason and theories of evolution. Darwin and God are still fighting it out... But all this crap my elementary school started cramming into my mind still gives me a headache. So to my teachers..
Im going to be honest.... I REALLY COULD GIVE A SH*T!
