The correct way is
Me gusta el fútbol.
There is no need to say "a mi" because it is understood that you are talking about yourself.

the difference between Me gusta el futbol and A mi me gusta el futbol is not much. Just like most people said, the "A mi" is not necessary. What the "A mi" does, is it just emphasizes that you like soccer. You just making your statement stronger and more emphasized. It is not incorrect to use either one of these.

"me gusta el fútbol" and "a mi me gusta el fútbol" are different ways of saying the same thing, both are correct. to me, i'd use the second way if i had already said i liked something else and would start a new phrase, so i wouldn't be too repetive, but that's up to you ^.^

You don't say "mi me gusta", but "A mi me gusta
el futbol.
That means almost the same thing as
Me gusta el futbol.
The "me" is an indirect object pronoun here.

In ordinary conversation, Me gusta futbol is okay.
But when talking about grammar, when in formal writing - A mi, me gusta futbol.

The best is: Me gusta el fútbol.
Mi me gusta el fútbol doesn't exist, guess it must be: A mà me gusta el fútbol.
