The police paid the ticket himself,and there is no logic on this story, the help that much needed here, is to make sense on this story. This question is not even a joke..

that the 16 year old boy was his (the cop) boss's son or it was opposite day and instead of the 16 year old paying the cop paid it??? I don't know, sorry...
