Im 16 and Ive Lived in USA since i was 3. Im originally from canada. I really don't want to have to wait until im 18 to become American but my parents aren't willing to go through the process with me. Is there Any way I can become a citizen as a minor without Making my parents become citizens as well? PLEASE help. any websites with info, informational numbers anything! thanks

Find a lawyer ... I kind of doubt it, but 18 is just under two years away.

If you are in the US as a legal permanent resident (green card holder) you can apply for citizenship on your own when you are 18 and have lived in the US for at least five years:

If you do not have a green card and are in the US illegally, any time before your 18th birthday does not count against you but as soon as you turn 18 it does; so make sure you leave before you turn 18: if you wait, it will be that much harder.

One thing you need to do is first determine what kind of legal status you have. If you are a lawful permanent resident, you will be allowed to file for naturalization when you turn 18 years old. If you are not (e.g. if you and your parents are here on some type of visa), then you will not be able to file for naturalization unless you change your status.

nope b/c i also have to wait until i'm 18 or wait for my mom to be naturalized
