How can you not like Martin he's the nicest guy in NASCAR. It's great to see him in a quality ride again. I think Jack might have been giving the younger guys better equipment.

One of the big reasons Mark is so upbeat this year is the lack of pressure from his new owners. Over at Ginn Racing they were just happy to bring Mark over and help them get the new team established and be a mentor to Regan Smith. It sounds like Mark would have gone to this partial schedule a couple years back if it hadn't been for the tremendous pressure that Jack put on him to continue full time. Now that he's just having fun again his approach to races and final results have both gotten better. I do believe that he will sit out at Bristol but if he is still in the top 10 after that look for him to consider running more races. Mark is just a class guy, there is not one driver out there that speaks poorly of him. He races you fair and not always as tough as you'd like to see. If he knows another driver has a better car than him he won't hold them up very long. That type of respect that he has for his fellow competitors has probably cost him a championship or 2 over the years but he's OK with that. He had a good point at Vegas, he said "It's not the trophy that makes the man great, it's the man that makes the trophy great." Oh yeah, I think he likes the Hendrick horsepower a lot as well. I've never seen Mark smile so much and talk so highly about his engines before.

I've been a fan since Mark started in with Roush in 88. He may have lost some, since he's 48, but strongly feel Mark would have had a championship if he hadn't stayed loyal to Roush.

Something was stirred up within Roush the last year or so, b/c Kenseth and Biffle were not real happy at times. Plus Busch left.

Rumor has it that Roush president Geoff Smith did not care much for Mark.

I have a lot of respect for Mark Martin. I wasn't ever a "fan", but now he drives a Chevy, so maybe. Roush, however I have no respect for- totally lost any I may have had when he f***ed Kurt Busch. The 'house of roush' isn't looking so tough with Martin gone. I am a big fan of some of the 'new school' drivers and the 'new' veterans (like Jeff Gordon ) but I would have to say Mark Martin is the last gentleman left in the Nextel cup.

I like him now. I used to not like him 10 yrs ago mainly because I can't stand Roush. I always thought he should have left Roush year's ago. He was getting way to stale.
Alot of people don't know this but Mark Martin is a recovering alcoholic. His last drink was the day(or around there) Roush called to hire him. Martin had just filed bankruptcy for the Busch team he had and lost everything. After the phone call from Roush he figured this was his last chance in racing so he became compulsive to working out and physical health.
That might be one of the reason's he stuck with Roush for so long.

I don't hate anybody.....ok maybe except for Jeff Green. Why in the hell is HE still in a race car.

I like Mark Martin, I think he is a true class act. I also think that the best thing he could have done was leave Roush, I think the relationship between him and Jack was strained and I think Jack pushed his luck having him return last year when he didn't really want to. I met him several times at races at Eldora and he was very kind and patient with all the fans he dealt with

I saw the interview with Mark about his feeling prior to retirement. He felt he lost his edge until he got into a Chevy. Well, maybe not in those words, but he has come alive and running great. I think that Mark is one of the most respected drivers right now. He doesn't cause accidents from being reckless, he respects other drivers, his method of driving is one that the younger drivers could learn from, and he won't unnecessarily take chances. He is a gentleman on and off the track.
I personally like Mark and would love to see him win more races.

Mark Martins success is the car, but not the engine or the make Ford, Dodge , or That foreign one, Its the setup stupid the car is set up proper that's why it handles and competes. All the makers have plenty of horse power and Torque. Its they shocks , springs trailing arms and front geometry that wins in Nascar. Just so happens Martin has a chevy this year. The same setup in Marks old car would do as well.

I am so glad he left roush. He should have done that a while back. I am not a huge fan but I would like to see him win some in Cup and stay out of Busch, it should be for drivers who have not won in Cup

Mark is a class act. I can say that his attitude kinda sucked the last 2 years at Roach Racing, but I can understand why now. He basically built Roach Racing and has a great many things for Jack Roach. Jack would not give an inch on the contract negotiations, so Mark bailed... and who can blame him. Great to see him kicking a$$ in a chevy!

Mark Martin is my favorite driver for alot of reasons. His class, his ability to take crappy equipment and turn it in to something good, his respect for other drivers and most importatnly, there is never any controversy surrounding him.

As for the people that say he complains to much, complains about what ? Dumbasz like JJ Yeley running over him or Dale Jr bumpdrafting in the corners. Any driver would complain about that.

Too old??? He is the friggin points leader you idiot and a contender for the win every week!!!!

Some people should really stop and think before they make idiots of themselves with stupid answers!
