when I try to change a scanned or saved photo and try to open it using imaging there is no problem accessing the photo. My problem is trying to save the photo after changing it.It always goes back to the original photo.I want to put the photo`s as desktop backgrounds, but when I do that the photo is cut of when centered or really distorted when stretched. I`m generally working with photos in the 700kB to 2.0 MB size. The imaging utility is very confusing and doesn`t seem to answer my questions adequately. I am using windows200 pro. Any help would be appreciated

A more important question is what resolution is you monitor? If you have a widescreen, it is pure luck if it will set properly since it has to have a 16:9 resolution, which few pictures do, unless taken with a camera that has that setting. Often that will distort it.

Now if that isn't the situation my next guess is that your changes aren't saving. I have never used the Kodak program so I can't talk you though that. I tend to use Ulead or Photoshop. Although there are some pretty decent free programs just to resize. So I would suggest trying one of those.

The classic freebie is irfanview..dl it at http://www.irfanview.com/. Very easy to use.

If you want to try one that isn't so simple that has a lot of the features of the expensive programs you might want to check out http://www.freeserifsoftware.com/software/PhotoPlus/default.asp. What they do is give away an older version of their programs to introduce them to people. So you could go dl PhotoPlus 6 free or pay for 8. I hear it's pretty good.

But I think the key to fixing your problem is seeing what you have your screen resolution to and resizing the pic to that size. Why use one you say is confusing when here are 2 good free options.

BTW just thought of one thing...before you are editing your pic are you first saving it to your computer versus working with the image still on your card? Make sure you save it THEN edit.
Good luck with it!

no longer too specific the place that's located on the no longer ordinary force, yet you realize what you ought to attempt... making use of the print reveal screen function on your keyboard, you're arranged to cover the taskbar and the icons on your very own laptop so purely the image shows up. Then, press print reveal screen and this might reproduction the image on your visual reveal unit (that's gonna be your historic past image) after which you will paste (ctrl + V) that into an application such as Microsoft Paint. desire this works.
