No joke--CHICKEN SOUP!! It really does have healing properties and for an extra nutritional kick add a wee bit of chopped raw garlic to it before eating; really does taste good.

Try to eat as much as possible during your cold, or at least, eat when you are hungry. It really is true:

FEED a cold, STARVE a fever

I think the idea is that by eating, you are keeping the digestion working in good order. And you'll also be ingesting vitamins and nutrients your body needs to help it heal.

There's a reason these "old wive's tales" have been around for centuries--they WORK! Sleep a LOT, drink a lot of water and fluids, keep warm and stay positive.
