My doc prescribed doxycyclene and Retin A for my cystic acne is Retin A going to get rid of the acne?

Retin A is actually the best topical medicine that he could have put you on. It will take like a month to see your skin get better and your skin will get worse before it gets better. But, the Retin A prevents the formation of the acne and smooths the skin. Other topicals like benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid just dry up the already formed pimple. The problem with drying topicals is that your face will form resistance to the drying topicals. In the long run you are better off sticking only with retin A and accutane if you have severe acne. Long term use of the other topicals and antibiotics will lessen the effectiveness of accutane and antibiotics for real uses like pneumonia.

Jasmine, I have tried many medications for acne, prescribed, not prescribed until I found an incredible treatment. You can see the effects in 1-2 weeks at most. I got rid completely of acne in 2 months. No traces at all right now. If you want to read more about it I will post here the resource where I read about it for the very first time. Take a look at http://www.ehealthguide.net and give it a try.
I hope you will get rid of acne soon.
Take care now

The Retin-A is a topical solution to help control break outs. Doxycycline is an anti-biotic taken orally to help kill the bacteria that causes acne.
