I like ChapStick (the actual brand) and Blistex, though Blistex sometimes makes the peeling more excessive.

A good daily routine is to put on a thin layer of Vaseline on your lips before bedtime and once in the morning during your routine. During the day, keep a tube of ChapStick with you for when you need it.

Sometimes I need to exfoliate my lips with a damp towel. If you need to do this, GENTLY rub the towel in circles over your lips. Lightly rinse your lips and apply either Vaseline or ChapStick.

Edit -

Sarah, I just remembered a product I used to use - Vaseline Lip Therapy Advanced Formula. It comes in a tube with a blue cap. I forgot to mention it because I stopped using it, and I stopped using it because my boyfriend didn't like kissing me when I used it. So that ended that!! Otherwise, it's actually better than all others I've tried, including Blistex, ChapStick and Softlips. You might want to look into Burt's Bees products too. Good luck!!

Chapstick is not the answer. You need to drink more water during the day and use good old vaseline aka petroleum jelly on your lips a couple of times a day. Use at night before you go to bed for sure.

My husband likes Carmex and I like Chapstick. Anytime I have chapped lips, I put the lip balm on at bedtime and let stay on all night and it usually heals faster. Also, I know that licking your lips alot can make it worse and if you live somewhere cold/have the heat on alot that can contribute too. This is just from my personal experience.

I had the same problem. The only thing that has worked (and I can't live without) is the Neosporin Lip Treatment. Each tube is about $5, but it's worth it!

Kiehl's Lipbalm #1, expensive, but the best. I am a chap stick addict :) Nothing compares, and Vaseline is too greasy.

burts bees beeswax lipbalm is the best stuff i have ever found. Put it on at night before you go to bed and when you wake up they will be almost healed!! it is found at all cracker barrel stores and at most walgreens for about 2.50 a tube !! it burns as little after you put it on but it will go away .
hope this helped

Aveno makes a really good one and it's very soothing. Try not to lick your lips and drink plenty of water.
