My mother has Hepatitis C, she has already finished treatment for the Hepatitis and recently everything has been fine. On her last tests nothing even showed up. A few days ago she found out she was a candidate for Gastric Bypass surgery. While she is not heavily overweight, she does meet the guidelines and would like to have it done. Her heart doctor told her she needed to find out if her having Hepatitis C would interfere with that or cause them to not allow her to receive the surgery before he filled out all the paper work. So I'm trying to find out for her. Thanks!

Weight loss surgery-like gastric bypass have become very common and very safe now. My cousin got her Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery in India. She has lost more than 65 lbs in 5 months and is very happy with the results. The price for obesity surgery is very less in India. My cousin just paid 25% of the cost she was quoted in America. She got her surgery from a company called Forerunners Healthcare.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines. I have read a lot of their patient stories also. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as bariatric surgery and weight loss surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that your Obesity surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.

Hi there, I'm not a Doctor or a Nurse but i've had some medical training, but one has to ask the question of your age. If you are younger, 20's, early 30s and you loose a lot of weight, chances are after you've lost the weight you should not see your skin sagging. But I believe if you are in your later 30's, 40's, 50's then your body's skin elascity can't bounce back and that is when you get the "skin sagging." I also believe it has to be a significant amount of weight loss in order for that to happen (like just not 10-15 pounds). I"ve heard a lot of times people get this, because they have just had a Gastric Bypass and after they do, they loose so much weight so fast (sometimes without exercising) that is one reason they get the "skin sagging."

After reading this I really want to share something because I spent endless years jumping from diet to diet without getting any real results until I saw Pams magic plan (just google it). Without a doubt the best weight loss that I have ever achieved and I have kept it off to this day.

if your mother just recently finished antiviral chemotherapy, she should wait at least 6 months to a year to fully recover. antiviral chemotherapy can affect blood clotting factors which can leave a person to bleed more easily (hcv can cause this too).
she should wait until she's had a sustained viral response and that will not be conclusive until she is post a year.

good luck.

p.s. ask her gastro doctor.

Baggy clothes hide your system and encourage lounging around. So even though you're relaxing at home, wear fitted clothes to keep you on track.

Don't keep junk food as part of your kitchen. If it's not at this time there, you can't be tempted because of it.
