You want to take acetacylic acid, not acetametaphrin. Acetacylic acid stops prostaglandin hormones from circulating in your system. These hormones are responsible for pain. Acetametaphrin is an anti-inflammatory and will not impact the pain sensors like acetacylic acid can. Talk to the pharmacist. You can also talk to your doctor. There is a prescription strength acetacylic acid drug called Naproxen that is a little stronger than over-the-counter drugs.

Squeeze the area behind your near your ankle above your heel. I read this in a massage book and it works. It helps to reduce the pain.

Otherwise, use a heating pad and rest.
