It's really too bad that the West won't accept it.

I'd certainly say so.

Out of all religion, Eastern mysticism is one of the only branches that seems to focus on peace and tranquility instead of the domination focus of Western religion [in general]. Instead of declaring that there is an all-righteous God that will judge every human on his/her sins and thus banishing each person to either eternal salvation or eternal damnation, Eastern religions focus more on the idea of becoming "one" with "God," who is often synonymous with "nature." Oftentimes they also include a deep respect for ancestors and high-ranking figures (Shintoism) as well. Since their focus is instead on serenity and harmony, Eastern religion rarely causes serious discrimination (sometimes groups are discriminated against depending on religion, but it's not as often a full-out war between two belief systems; an example of such a war in the West at the moment would be Ireland's political situation) or warfare. The lack of a drive to conversion similarly keeps the religions in question relatively peaceful. So, out of all religions, I'd definitely have to say that the ones found in the East are the most "humane" of them all.
