Depending on what kind of recipes you are looking for I use www.foodnetwork.com a lot. They even go as far as indicating the difficulty level of each recipe and what chef created it.

If nothing else fails use google.com! Another great resource. Good luck!

NOVA SCOTIA SEASHORE, 1783 - Stand iron tripod over beach wood fire. Onto chain hung over fire center hang the following: One cup of diced salt pork in a deep pan with three cups chopped onions fried under lid until vegetable looks translucent. Meanwhile use kettle to boil one quarter under four full pounds of bones, head, and skin of one cod or haddock using four cups salted water twenty minutes. Next parboil two cups rough cut potatoes. Cut the cod or haddock fillets into one to four inch fleshy cubes. Heat fish cubes, onions, and hog meat in three cups prepared fish stock twenty minutes. Add one quart of cow or goat milk while second pot comes short of full boil. Take off chain.
Chowder serves eight starving Loyalist exiles. Serve with helpings of potatoes, pork scraps, sea salt, East Indian red pepper, and weevil-rich hard breads. Afterward, press any likely hands for the Royal Navy.
