I have two cats and are both almost two years old. One is long and slender, weighing 12 lbs, and one is small and stubby, weighing 10 lbs. Are they going to get any bigger, or grow more? Also, I've noticed that my female cat has a little bit of flabby extra skin hanging down on her stomach. I noticed it after she got spayed. I know it's not her stomach, because when I feel it, it's just extra skin? Did her getting spayed have anything to do with that?

at 2 years they should both be mature and their normal weight, however it could fluctuate a bit depending on how you feed them. That flabby bit of skin hanging down is what some people call "Spay sway" it's not detrimental to her health or anything most fixed female cats have it it's one of those unsolved mysteries of cat ownership.

Cats are fully grown at about a year. Not all cats are going to be the same size, there is no "normal" size for a cat. Both of your cats are certainly within the range of healthy for cats, they aren't too small or too fat. Relax. Will they change sizes, well, if they eat too much or too little they can get fatter or skinnier, but they aren't going to change basic size. Well, as they get older, and I mean 16 years old, they are like people and they may shrink a little as they have bones like we do, but other than my 16 year old cat being thinner than I thought (Persian who was shaved), she is about the same as she has always been. I don't think fixing a cat does much except make them eat a bit more, but that would mean they would get fatter, so don't know about the extra skin. I've only seen it with a cat I had who was very overweight and lost a lot of weight and like people had a sack where weight was lost.
Your cats sound healthy. Enjoy them and play with them to keep them healthy.

Because they are already almost 2 years of age your cats have fully grown. Those weights are perfectly normal and healthy for cats. It's when they get around 14lbs that they can be considered a bit overweight (unless they have unusually large frames). The extra skin is pretty normal and my current and past cats have always had that as adults. It could be a result from the surgery; I'm not sure.

It sounds like you have 2 healthy kitties with a responsible owner. Enjoy your pets! :)

Yes, your cats are full grown. Cats grow through 14 months of age.

The flabby skin hanging down was caused by getting her fixed- the skin and muscles get damaged. My cat has a really saggy belly and she was never pregnant or anything.

Question One: Your cats will not get any bigger. At 2 years old, they are definitely fully grown.

Question Two: That bit of flabby extra skin is quite common in cats. One of my male cats has that. It's normal, nothing to be alarmed about.

Yes there full grown but they may gain weight as they get older. I had to change my cats food a few months ago cause he was getting fat. I started using that purina naturals and he has lost the weight and has more energy. Hes falbby to stomach wise. Its cause hes a house cat and they dont climb up trees to have tight abs.

They are at their full grown sizes and that skin is just what happens to grown up cats, my male cat has that skin too.
