Sin is an outdated concept. You have your own brain. I'm sure you can figure out for yourself the pros and cons of cussing. If you are in "polite company", you might offend those around you. That could be career damaging in certain places.
However, when you get right down to it, the words you use matter far less than what you say with them. I can give someone a compliment using the F word, and say the vilest things with a first grade vocabulary.

There is some scriptures prohibit using god's name in vain (an insignificant and therefore insulting use of his name). This isn't cussing specifically, but rather a specific type of cussing.
There's some scriptures that suggest one should not resort to swearing. Often, this is misinterpreted to mean cussing, but swearing is very different than cussing in bible language. To swear in the bible is simply to make a statement into an oath using God's name. Even the scripture sited above by other answerer iterates this thought.
Cussing is use of profanity (the utterance of digusting words). And there is single scripture which addresses this topic, but does not state a prohibition explicitly. It says to "let it not happen", which is not the same as "don't do it."

Obviously taking God's or Jesus name in vain (cursing) is a sin. But as to other words I will say this. The word itself is just a word. What you have to look at is how that word affects someone else. If by using it you cause offense to someone, then you are sinning because that is not loving another as you love yourself. You can also look at your intent when you use the word. Personally, I hate to hear people cursing because I think it makes them sound ignorant. I think all of us should be able to come up with a descriptive adjective or pronoun rather than using a four letter expletive.

Nope, you are right just not to take the lord's name in vain...thats it. Christians are supposed to be by definition..moral and righteous...so cussing is probably not a good idea in church atleast.

Yes, Cussing is an actual sin. It is apart of the ten commandments. Even though you see is one verse that is all the proof we need to know that we should not curse anymore. Here is the verse you were looking for to not curse anymore!
Exodus 20:7
7 "You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.

Yes. There is no verse that says the word "cuss." But Eph. 4:29 says: "Let a rotten saying not proceed out of your mouth, but whatever saying is good for building up as the need may be, that it may impart what is favorable to the hearers."
People whose speech is abusive manifest “the old personality” that Christians are exhorted to “strip off” like a foul-smelling coat for which they have no further use. The apostle Paul counsels: “Put them all away from you, wrath, anger, badness, abusive speech, and obscene talk out of your mouth.” “Let all malicious bitterness and anger and wrath and screaming and abusive speech be taken away from you along with all badness.” (Colossians 3:8, 9; Ephesians 4:31) Further, please note that those who insult and heap abuse on others, whom Paul describes as “revilers,” are included among the “unrighteous persons [who] will not inherit God’s kingdom.”—1 Corinthians 6:9, 10.

I don't know if it's a sin, but instead you can use any old word and put a lot of feeling behind it.
