I say a rich man, because the Poor man's experienced actual hardship; he's seen what he's seen, and most likely came from a Christian family. No god helped him from poverty, so he'd finally get sick of it and reject it. The rich man can afford to get scrubbed up and spiffy for a sunday; the hobo on the corner can't. Teh rich man already had his blessings; fame, fortune, and everything he could ever want. The poor man barely, if at all, has what he needs to survive. Hence why the Gospel of Greed came out so recently; rich men created, adapted, edited, translated, and pretty much have controlled the bible and Christianity for all of time.

A poor man--who realizes much more easily that he is not self sufficient and that there must be more than this world with all it's pain, struggles and lack. A rich man tends to either be content with life or think he can take care of everything himself; his pride in wealth, accomplishments, etc. being a stumbling block to admitting a need for God. The poor tend to be more humble--not all puffed up with their "self sufficiency".

Well Stanley, to answer your first question, there is no doubt that it is easier for a poor man. This is primarily because of education. There is a direct relationship to education and one's ability to make money. There is also a direct relationship between education and the likelyhood that one is an atheist. So the uneducated are more likely to be religious than the educated.

People shouldn't make fun of your choice to believe in the unknown, but I think you will find that it stems from other Christians making vile comments and condemnations to these Atheists. One tends to get touchy after they have been told that they will by burning in hell question after question.

The poor man would probably be accepted first in Heaven as he has nothing more to loose.

There is a specific story in the bible where a rich man came to Jesus and said what can I do to be with you. Jesus said, drop everything and follow me. The rich man could not do this as he had many possessions so therefore he did not follow Jesus.
