Just wondering. I've been 1 1/2 - 2 cm dilated for going on 3 weeks now. Last week when they checked me my cervix was still firm. Today when the doctor checked me she said it was extremely soft. Will this help my dilation procede more quickly?

Yes, I did ask this question already. Once, and on a different section. You asked yours about 5 million times in a 24 hour period.

your cervix gives way so you can fully dialate and the baby can pass through, it is your cervix that creates a mucus plug and helps hold in the baby, when it starts to soften and efface is when you are getting fully prepared for labor.
