my parents are overly protective and i cant stand it. they dont approve of the music i listen to...its flipping annoying...

I am the parent of a 14 year old daughter and I don't like some of the music she listens but some of it I do. I let her listen to most of what she wants to as long as it doesnt have alot of nasty words that her little nephew could pick up.
i feel as a teenager she will experiment with alot of music until she finds what suits her style and thats OK by me.
I remember when I was a teenager and AC/DC was a favorite of mine and my good christian God fearing mother heard me listening to Back in Black and Highway to Hell she said that it was Satanic and that I shouldn't listen to that stuff, and that she would prey for me, but she didn't ban it from the house or stop me from listening to it, she just said keep the noise level down. But she liked to here Creedance Clearwater Revival play GO FIGURE!

I pretty much listen to whatever I want. But when I want to listen to like Hard Metel, my mom will come in and scream at me and tell me to turn it off or she will break the CD. She's been saying that for a couple years now. lol. But I don't care what my parents say about the music I listen to.

Growing up my parents always knew what music i listened to. They might not have liked it (most of it was heavy metal) but they still kept an interest in it..

My parents were smart enough to make sure we always talked about it.
