If your going to curl your hair with heat, make sure to use a curl activator when it's wet, and when your done use a setting spray or hairspray before you curl each strand.
A good way naturally is to (while hair is wet) roll strands around Q-tips, and pin them big or small sections depending on the size curl you want, and let it dry. Because the curl dried curly it stays that way!

YES YES YES
TRUST ME lol
First, spray hairspray onto dry hair. Then comb through. Style with rollers or curling iron. Spray AGAIN. Comb out gently.
But this is the real secret. Go to ebay and get one of those pink MOLECULAR hair setters. I have ROD STRAIGHT hair and this thing is amazing! It's by CARUSO. I curl my hair with these, and I swear...the curls are there the NEXT DAY! Im not kidding you!
You pour water into the setter. Then you add salt..I know, weird. Then you heat each roller, one at a time, for just like 3 seconds, then roll your hair. Continue till all rolled. Then wait, honestly, like 5 min or ten at most and the curls last for 2 days, unless you get it wet! Finger style, go out in the wind, its still there! Amazing.

My hair has a problem holding curls too. What I do is spray the strand of hair that I'm about to curl with hair spray right before curling it. And then spray hair spray all over after I'm done curling.

Wet the hair spritz it with holding spray. Place it in large or small rollers, depending on how big you want the curls. Use a blowdryer on the hair until the hair is completely dry. This could take 30 min or more.

~When you roll the curls in - are you using hot curlers, a curling iron, how are you curling it exactly???
When you seperate the strands of hair, spray them with hair spray and brush through. Then once your hair style is complete, spray again. Easy and beautiful. :)

After you wash your hair, use a styling product. The strength of it depends on the length and texture of your hair. My hair is medium long and very fine. I use Back to Basics Green Tea Mousse. Don't over-do it. You'll have to experiment.
Dry your hair, then style. Finish with hairspray.
A body wave helps, too.

Try putting hairspray on your hair before you put the curler on that piece of hair, and spray it afterwards too.
