never heard of the "Kool Aid " route till now...I assume it refers to drinking "sleepy" juice and laying down their "signs" once and for all, never to pick them up again....

Unfortunately, yes. They go to military funerals. People who lost thier son or daughter, brother, sister, husband, wife to the war....
They hold thier hate signs, and scream at the bereaved families over megaphones that the deceased will go to hell, and that they will go to hell for allowing them to go to the war....you can find Fred Phelps in wikipedia, and from there I found links to some biographies that are published about them online....mind blowing bunch.....If you want a donation for Kool aid, I would happily chip in....
Gone, in reference to your additional comments, the folks that are making Kool aid jokes are making a reference to the tragedy of the Jim Jones group in Guayana, he had such a hold on them that he was able to get them all to drink Kool aide laced with poison...

They seem to be attention whores for television. One TV station made a deal with them for airtime if they did not demonstrate during a funeral.
They took the deal.
And the woman who shows up for those things doesn't wear amke up. I suppose that she is legalistic ( ya' think?) and does not want to act like Jezebel. But Jezebel did two things; 1) She put on make up, AND 2) She looked out the window. So I think that their "PR" person, whatever her name is, should not look out of the most seen window in all the world! The TV!

Well known here. Phelps and his diseased family became noticably more active when the Iraq war started...and Faux News gave them air time. Even when they alienated Sean Hannity, the Phelps clan continued to get what they wanted...attention. Only recently have they been getting the treatment they deserved: marginalization.

Would "Kool-Aid for Fred Phelps" count as a charitable organization?

"Old" Fred Phelps thinks he and his "Kin" are going to heaven when they die.
There will be a "BIG" welcoming committee waiting at "H--ls" gate waiting for Fred when he's died.
