Speaking a foreign language really requires using it a lot with the native in dealings & conversation. There must be Spanish students too in your uni. You can also seek out activity groups, study, spot or leisure clubs the Spanish use.
If you also practice writing it often like right here in Answers, you will become more used to it. Lots of repetition helps to "install" the daily usage in your mind which you can "download" in speech later, as Spanish is spoken pretty much like it is written.
Buena suerte!

dont know about language schools but ive been trying with spanish ( and have a spanish boss) but sometimes the speed he speaks at, just loses me ! at the present time i can understand it (virtually) when reading, but ive always thought a person needs a good year in a country to get the giste at the very least on the verbal side ! I may be wrong ! I I hope so !!

Find someone who is Spanish and is willing to converse with you and help you develop the language. Spanish people are very friendly and approachable and you should easily be able to find someone in your uni or working in a cafe or restaurant nearby. If not advertise in the local shopping centre.
Learning by internet is not as good as conversing with someone face to face as hands and facial expressions are important too.
Buena suerte.

The best way of learning Spanish would be to get an interactive CD Rom so that you can hear the sounds and practice them over and over and listen as many times as you need to. You also see the written word that you are hearing and these interactive language CD roms have many learning activities which make them fun - like crosswords and accuracy meters etc. I would recommend this way to learn.

The best way is to really immerse yourself in the culture of the people.By living with them you learn more and your skills are honed. If this is impossible, try to talk in person with a fluent speaker in only Spanish.

It probably is. I learnt Spanish whilst in Central America and it really helps to keep up with written Spanish by chatting to the friends i made there on MSN. What i dont do, and you should to keep up your confidence, is speak to them too, otherwise you won't be able to communicate orally so well.

I bet your uni runs Spanish courses open to everyone, probably very cheap for students and you might even get a credit for attending. Once you've learnt enough to get going a bit then start the bilingual conversation.

i've got faith so. i do no longer recognize the two of those languages, yet my brother has been residing in United Arab Emirates when you consider that March of this twelve months and is incredibly plenty fluent interior the Arabic language. that's approximately 9 mos of him being there, so if he discovered in 9 mos, than you may rather learn those 2 when you consider that they are going to be your minor and in case you learn out of the country.
