How would you say "He's writing a letter to his girlfriend."?
and
"Do you know wher they went?

I meant to say "wrote" not "writing"

¿Sabes adonde fueron?

Edit:
He wrote a letter to his girlfriend. = Él escribió una carta a su novia.

Hmmm.... I'm a little rusty, but if I'm not mistaken it's:

El esta escribiendo una carta a su novia.

and

Sabes a donde fueron?

Edit: Then "wrote" I believe would be:

El escribio una...

He is writing a letter to his girlfriend = (él) (le) está escribiendo una carta a su novia

He wrote a letter to his girlfriend = (él) (le) escribió una carta a su novia

él and le are optional

Do you know where they went? = ¿Sabes adónde fueron?

do you know where they went? is SABE A DONDE FUERON?

The question mark would be upside down at the beginning of the sentence.
