The best I ever heard for sheer weapons-grade, 24 karat self delusion was "the space shuttle, man! It's natural for us to try and get closer to God!". I wish that guy was still around, but sadly he disappeared up his own backside mere seconds after making the abovr comment.

I haven't been on here for long (just since yesterday, actually)... but my favorite has always been "The bible says God is the word and the word is God. So that proves it right there." Ok... so you're using the Bible to prove God exists and God to prove the Bible is truth? Wow...

The 10th question I asked was about evolution and intelligent design (God), and got the most fantastic answer about our souls evolving. Sadly, when I just went back to find out exactly what it said, my question said "this question has been removed" even though I didn't delete it. But it was along those lines. My favorite personal proof is math, those few constant numbers that have to be exact for the universe to exist.

i do no longer see mine on your record, in spite of the indisputable fact that that's in there someplace. The actual manifestation of God is the Universe. The Universe isn't a lifeless or by no skill-residing ingredient. that's alive, consistently changing and evolving. one ingredient that we've discovered is that the Universe loves existence. anyplace the place stay CAN evolve, it does. In each place that has some thing to consume, no rely how unusual, there is a few thing there to consume it. i've got not got a conflict between technology and faith. i think of that the creation tale in Genesis (Adam and Eve) is actual technology, no longer faith. that's a condensed account of evolution written in tale form. on the start, Adam and Eve ran around bare and ate in basic terms fruit, like our pre-human ancestors. Then they ate the forbidden fruit - notice that this fruit replaced into on the Tree of expertise of excellent and Evil. In different words, they started thinking. Then they have been no longer able to be apes - they began to consume meat, and invented agriculture. appears like evolution to me. think of with regard to the generic fact - the Universe as a actual manifestation of God. various years in the past, cosmologists created a map of the Universe with the intention to income the distribution of rely in it. What they stumbled on replaced into that the undertaking is disbursed in bands, as though it have been arranged by way of sound waves - sort of like ripples on a pond. They deduced that, after the vast Bang, rely replaced into disbursed plenty greater uniformly. yet this distribution replaced into too skinny to be "exciting" - it did no longer produce plenty complicated rely. yet them an mind-blowing sound led to the undertaking to be compressed into those bands, and sophisticated rely replaced into born. This sound? some thing that God stated, the two "enable there be easy!", or merely "i'm!". So, in a feeling, the Universe is a made of the mixture of the potential last from the vast Bang, kicked into the complexity that finally ends up in existence by way of God. So, the Universe is the music that God sings.

My favorite is;
"can you hold electricity in your hand? Can you see it? No of course not, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist does it? See? God exists just like electricity!"
Cool, now if only someone can find a way to tap the free energy that is "god" we'd have a solution to our energy problems. Actually if you could tap into the hot air that christians keep spewing, we'd get the same result...

I always hear funny ways to disporve god..moslty geek speak. God exists in some way or another. I see god as an abstract concept and I think it is sad that so many people are spitirually blind. To honsest I once was...until my friend introduced me to a certain mushroom and then I just knew there was meaning to the universe. I find it hard to beleive that the universe oneday...somehow...for no reason decided to apear from 'nothingness'

Because good and evil exist in our world, only God would allow us to choose between the two. The possibility of the highest moral (love - good) is not possible in this world without the ability to choose it's opposite (hate - evil).
Oh, by the way, you can't prove the laws of logic, but the laws of logic exists in spite of the fact atheists use something they can't prove exists.

Evil is simply the absence of God (good). It is just like darkness and cold, a word that man has created to describe the absence of God.
God did not create evil. Evil is not like faith, or love, that exist just as does light and heat.
Evil is the result of what happens when man does not have God's love present in his heart.
It's like the cold that comes when there is no heat or the darkness that comes when there is no light.

My favorite is definitely princeoffingland's "numerological proof" that Larry Todd Stevenson is God because of a bunch of miscellaneous numbers thrown together in Times New Roman Font. I love it.

Because we have proof. Not "scientific" as some Athiests call it. Scientific means you can reproduce a result in a lab over and over. You can't do that with Christ..you can't do it with Abraham Lincloln either..yet you believe he existed.
You believe because you use another method for that called..
Legal or Historical Record.
It is fact or proof beyond a reasonable doubt. The Legal or Historical Method involves three kinds of testimony: Oral, Written, and Physical. Using this Method, we can prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Jesus did rise from the dead.
Do we have proof legally that Jesus did rise from the dead?
Yes! First, Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 15 that there were over 512 Oral witnesses to the fact of Christ's Resurrection. Second, we have the Written record of the Apostle's themselves in the New Testament verifying the fact that Jesus did rise from the dead. Third, we have Physical evidence of Jesus' Resurrection: the tomb is empty and there is no BODY to prove otherwise. These three facts show us beyond a reasonable doubt that Jesus did rise from the dead.
Who can rise from the dead..if not God?
